Our parish was honored to host this year's Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers.  His Eminence, Archbishop MICHAEL, 25 priests, 3 deacons and over 200 faithful from various Orthodox jurisdictions gathered for this celebration!  The responses were sung by The Spirit of Orthodoxy Choir.  A Lenten supper and fellowship hour was held following the service.  

This year was a particularly joyous celebration of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! 

Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men. - Luke 2:14

The Most Reverend Michael, Bishop of New York and New Jersey visted in December, just before Christmas.  The Teens and Children presented a live Tableau and sang Christmas Carols at the end of Liturgy.  Then a 2nd recital and more caroling was enjoyed by all at our annual St. Nicholas celebration during the coffee hour.

This past Summer Holy Resurrection welcomed our new Pastor and his family; Father Stephen, Matushka Jessica, Jacob and Julia Evanina!  As a new and exciting journey begins for all, we kicked off the Church School year with great anticipation.  It was the perfect day for a picnic,  plenty of food and fun for everyone!   

Father Paul Kycynda was ordained January 7, 1968.  Six months prior on June 11, 1967 he  married Barbara Kutzevich.  The young priest and his Matushka were assigned shortly after his ordination to the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Parish in Wayne, NJ.  They started out with just 12 families and three acres of land.  Over the last 50 Years Father Paul and Matushka Barbara have built a church, served the community, and grown a vital parish family.   Always a thriving church community, Holy Resurrection spreads Christ's message of love and opens it's doors to all who come in faith. In 2018 The Most Reverend Michael Archbishop of New York and New Jersey gathered with many past and present parishioners along with fellow clergy from near and far, to honor Father Paul's 50 years as Pastor and Leader to so many that have called Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church their home.
