Welcome to the Religious Education Program at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church! We are delighted that your family is part of our Church School community.

The Religious Education Program at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church is dedicated to helping your child grow in the faith and life of the Orthodox Church. Together with our clergy, teachers, and parish family, we strive to provide a nurturing environment that builds upon the spiritual foundation you have established in your home.

As parents, you brought your child to the Church through the Holy Mystery of Baptism, affirming your commitment to raise them in the Orthodox Christian faith. This sacred responsibility is one we are honored to share with you. Our Church School exists to support and encourage your family's efforts to help your child know, love, and live the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We live in a world where faith is often challenged and God's presence can easily be overlooked. Yet Christ's commandment to "love one another" remains at the heart of our calling as Orthodox Christians. Each day, our children encounter influences and situations that may not reflect Christian values of love, compassion, humility, and forgiveness. Together, parents and the Church have the privilege and responsibility of providing children with a strong spiritual foundation that will guide, strengthen, and sustain them throughout their lives.

Our Church School offers a welcoming and caring environment where children deepen their understanding of the Orthodox faith through prayer, worship, Scripture, the lives of the saints, and fellowship with one another. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in your child's spiritual growth and look forward to a blessed, joyful, and rewarding Church School year.

Sunday Schedule

Our Church School program will resume in September 2026 and will meet every other Sunday throughout the school year.

Children and teens are encouraged to participate fully in the Divine Liturgy and will be the first to receive Holy Communion. Following Holy Communion, they will enjoy a light snack before gathering in their age-appropriate classes.

Classes will begin at approximately 11:15–11:20 a.m. and conclude promptly at 12:00 noon.

The Church School calendar includes 25 instructional sessions during the academic year, providing opportunities for students to grow in their knowledge of the Orthodox faith while building lasting friendships within our parish community.
